The year 2020 is a fast approaching mile stone for the biomass industry to achieve an EU wide energy target of 20% supplied from renewable sources.
With the 2020 target for renewable energy driving this growth, the demand for biomass is rapidly increasing. Major challenges still remain however, which are stifling the development of the industry including the complex policy framework and the sustainability of the biomass feedstock chain.
After months of research with hundreds of biomass and renewable energy professionals, we are delighted to announce the finalised agenda for the EU Biomass Forum.
In order to bring you up to date with the most tried and tested solutions in the industry we have brought together the key stakeholders including the policy makers, energy companies and biomass experts.
The comprehensive programme includes case studies from E.ON, Vattenfall and DONG Energy as well as the perspective of the European Commission and key European governments. This project manager level forum provides three days of hands-on 'how to's' to ensure you are properly positioned - and informed- for what lies ahead.
With this in mind we have expanded the topics on the agenda to include 3 industry insights from outside the energy sector including retail, paper and pulp and cement industries plus the latest and most innovative European case studies from key utility companies and regulators.
This will ensure you go back to the office with a different approach when dealing with the challenges of fuel security, pricing and quality as well as the issues that non traditional energy suppliers face.
We’re extremely happy to introduce the following speakers:
* Dr Elizabeth McDonnell, Office for Renewable Energy Deployment, Department of Energy and Climate Change, UK * Dr Hans Jürgen Froese, Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV), Germany * Charles Nielsen, Director of R&D, DONG Energy * Dr. Jonathan Scurlock, Chief Adviser, Renewable Energy and Climate Change, National Farmers' Union * Ben Goh, Senior Biomass Fuel Developer, E.ON Climate & Renewables * Ian Calvert, Head of Biomass UK, RWE Npower Renewables
